2020 – 2021 Projects
Aim for the Top – new equipment required !
The sand area, primarily used by Tiny Tots, which is currently closed, due to the latest Pandemic Lockdown. This area has had a new boat installed and the area has already begun an overhaul this Autumn, in preparation for 2021.
This year the Friends are looking for funding to install new equipment on the main park, which will be suitable for youngsters and teenagers. The new equipment will be installed in areas where other equipment is reaching its end of life, therefore the Friends feel through local consultation that this is an ideal time to make changes.
Please support any Fund Raising Activities that the Friends manage to hold to keep raising funds for this project.
On 11th of September 2020 – we heard that we had been awarded £1,000 by the Gazette/Swallowdale Charity, which will really help us with our funds for the new equipment but we still need more so please support us. We will be continuing to look for more funds through funding applications to enable further improvement to go ahead.
2020 – 2021 Funded Projects
Art in the Park – funded by the Co-op
The Friends were lucky enough to be awarded funding by the Co-op Community Causes Fund to run this project which would involve an Art project centred around the Pavilion building on the park. Youngsters and their peers will be invited to create this art. This was planned for this Spring/Summer but due to the Covid 19 pandemic the project has been put on hold until 2021.

Sunday Chillouts at the Park – to be funded by Tesco’s
In 2020 the Friends were fortunate to be nominated to receive funding from the Tesco Community Fund, the voting closed in March 2020, but so far we have not heard the result of this funding and expect this project to be put back until this Summer if not later due to the current pandemic. We will keep you informed when we hear any news.
